Sunspot goes down
Third time on Sunspot this spring and it finally came together. The crux is a long move off a sloping pinch to a crimp rail — the first two burns I kept cutting my feet and barn-dooring off before I could latch it.
Today the temps dropped into the low 60s and the rock felt noticeably better. Warmed up on the 5.9 to the left, then went straight for it on burn two. Stuck the crux clean, breathed through the runout above it, and clipped the chains with a little gas left in the tank.
Jen flashed the 5.10 next door while I was resting — strong day for everyone.
Beta notes
- Left foot goes on the small dish, not the obvious flat edge.
- Match the pinch before moving right hand up, don't cross straight through.
- Chalk the crimp rail on the way up; it's slopey when damp.
